Last Day!

Hello!

Miss Walker here. I have observed some sporting excellence this afternoon during our ski-ing activity on the dry slope. For a group of children who had not skied before I was amazed at how well all children did. Georgia, Emma, Jodie and Zoe were particularly confident and picked up the snow plough so quickly. We had a turn on the ski lift and it was such fun. Elliot was an excellent sport, and after many attempts managed to get up once he had fallen over. Fantastic attitudes were displayed!

In the morning the group went biking and tried lots of activities on the obstacle course. It was a real challenge trying to stay on the bikes, especially whilst attempting the wooden see saw, but we were all padded with gloves and helmets of course, so falling off the bikes wasn't too bad! I thought today was a perfect end to a fantastic week.

I have loved spending time with the children this week, and have really valued the time I have spent with the children in Miss Parker's class as well. I was looking after the boys' section of Scoran Lodge which consisted of Brett, Idris, Jake, Lewis, Brandon and Sam. They have been stars and such fun to be around.

Right, signing off now, I have got to practice my scales and arpeggios for tonight's karaoke. I hope to become the next Wagner.

See you tomorrow!

Day 4

Hey, exciting times at camp!

We've just been snowboarding and it was great.  Most of us made it onto the high slope and persevered after falling on a few occasions.  We were allowed to go to the shop for some gifts.  We bought keyrings, rubbers, and loads more.

After lunch we went canoeing, it was fun. The wind slowed us down a bit but we managed to work as a team and get to our final destination.  It was hard work loading all the canoes onto the truck but we worked together and got there in the end.

Looking forward to tea - it's pizza or beef burger.  Think we're getting chips.  Ice cream cones for dessert.

Then it's a celidh and karaoke night.  Can't wait for the scary story after dark, Mr Craig has got something planned...

It's 6.30pm so we'd better get going for tea.

Camp Photos

As you know, no childrens' faces can be posted on the blog... but maybe you can recognise your little darlings from their clothes! We put plenty of the activities and teachers on though!! Enjoy... we will post more tomorrow!

African Drumming!

One last thing! Mrs Wilson kindly arranged for us to have some evening entertainment last night (Tuesday night). We know Steve already from the workshops he has done at Balgreen. He lives near Lagganlia so we asked him if he would pop down with his drum kits and van! We had SUCH fun!! We tried lots of percussion instruments and Steve made us laugh a lot. Because it was so hot yesterday, we did our drumming and singing outside. We wore special African hats and some people got a chance to conduct the whole drum orchestra!

Can't wait for karaoke night!

PS - No one is too homesick and everyone is having fun!! :)  <3
Hey all,

It's Wednesday and we've been canoeing.  It was lots of fun and we managed to stay pretty dry apart from Murray and jenny who waded right into the water almost to their waist.  We went round an island in the canoe and saw an Osprey going back to its nest with a fish.  The nest was huge and on a platform on the top of a tree.

We decided to canoe all the way to some far away sheep, and the first team won but on the way back when we put the sails up,  Miss Parker and Miss Walker's team won and were quickest!  Lots of team work was involved and everyone helped one another.  Fraser enjoyed singing on the canoe and everyone joined in!  He was our singing captain.

In the afternoon, we went mountain biking and everyone was very brave because the obstacle course was tough and challenging.  Riaz was very confident and determined.  Jia Wen was nervous but persevered and completed the course well.  We then went on a forest walk and our legs and bums could be in better form!

Looking forward to tea tonight - it's spag bol/veg pasta.
We also have an orienteering competition tonight and we're also hoping that some of the boys have a shower tonight (PLEASE).  The girls' dorm is smelling fresh and Miss Parker is very impressed with Rebecca H and Becky's room.  Not a pair of socks out of place!

Anyway, catch up tomorrow!

Day 2 continued...

Hi, Mrs Scott here.  Today we went rock climbing and abseiling.  I even had a go myself, can you believe it?  Miss Walker fell on her bum but is okay now!  Everyone in my group took part and gave their all.  The sun was shining down on us which made it a perfect day.  We've just been outside playing drums with Steve.  I was loving the Bob Marley tunes and eccentric dancing.  We even made a Congo line round the camp.  Looking forward to gorge walking tomorrow, I've heard many stories about it!  Hot chocolate and cake for supper, here I come!

Morgan here, I had fun rock climbing even though it was pretty scary.  Glad I got through it and can't wait until gorge walking tomorrow.  Snowboarding in the afternoon.

My favourite part of camp so far has been Abseiling.  I did hurt my leg but I got through it and it was really fun.  I had chicken curry for tea tonight which was lovely.  Plenty of food to eat and I'm loving having breakfast in my lodge.  the food is sooo good.  I like making my own and choosing what I want and how much.

I won the 'Archery' competition and was very proud of myself, even though I was against my pupils.
Very chuffed!

P.S Oh, did I tell you I won the archery competition?:)

Gorge Walking

Day 2

Gorge walking this morning was fantastic and so much fun!  We were not looking particularly gorgeous after it but it was worth it.  Some of us were scared of slipping and the freezing water but none of us gave up.  We enjoyed the water slides and also our waterfall showers.  Soaked and excited we headed back for lunch.

In the afternoon, our activity was Archery.  The sun was out, it was hot and there was a competition to win. Miss parker was very competitive and determined to win.  We battled on throughout but eventually she was triumphant.  Teachers 1, pupils 0.  Miss Parker loving it every second.  Archery was great and our aim was getting better and better.

What a great day at camp.  Have to get changed and then unstack the dishwasher...
Looking forward to sticky toffee pudding and chicken curry for tea.

Can't wait for tomorrow, we're going on the ski slope.

Lots of love
